Membership
As a member of the Urasenke Foundation of San Francisco, you are offered a unique opportunity to savor the heart of the Way of Tea. All levels of Membership benefits include: mailings containing invitations to tea gatherings, lectures, and workshops on the Way of Tea and related arts; consultation and use of the library by appointment. Certain Membership levels also include the benefit of selected publications in either Japanese or English language.

 

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

WISTERIA/BASIC $35
The Introductory membership entitles the member to
receive advance notice to lectures, special classes, and activities at reduced admission.
Use of the Foundation library by appointment.

Discounts on Tankosha and Weatherhill publications.

Membership in this category is a prerequisite or all first-year students at the Foundation.

PAULOWNIA/CONTINUING $110
Membership benefits for two persons.
A choice of either 2 Japanese language, chanoyu related Tankosha publications, or a subscription to the monthly Japanese language color booklet Tanko Text, or 4 back issues of the English language journal,the Chanoyu Quarterly (limited to supply on hand).

Foundation students are expected to become Continuing members after their first year.

Membership benefits for two persons.
A choice of a year’s subscription to either the monthly Japanese-language Nagomi, or the monthly Japanese-language Tanko magazine.

Second year students may choose to join at this
